    Shallow well
When you drive down a shallow well and get to the water table should you run water down your pipe or do you just let water seep in to you pipe _ I seem to be getting a lot of sand and clay pumping up.

That's normal. Run water down the pipe to wash out around the bottom. Then, draw water up through the pump. Sometimes it can take a long time to stop getting sediment, until it washes out good around the well-point. If it doesn't clear, you may need to go a little deeper.
