5 wire 3 speed fan switch
I replaced a 5 wire switch for a three speed fan. I marked all wires carefully and put the wires the same into the new switch. The fan does not now have a medium speed. It is the same as slow speed. It turns but no difference in the speed. High is just fine. I got another switch but same problem. Is there something else that is wrong.

    What make is the fan?

All switches that look alike are not alike, probably BOTH of your replacement switches are wrong.

Thank you for your response. I don't know the make of the fan. It was here when the house was purchased and there is no indication of the make. So I appear to be back at square one. Would there be another way to tell the make? It works fine but we don't want to purchase a new one right now.

Call CeilingFanParts.com Home they should be able to match up the switch.

OR email me a picture of the fan and I might be able to identify it.
