Can I get probation off already after serving half my time?
I was arrested at the age of 17 almost turning 18.(thank god it happen before my 18th birthday if not it would have been worse for me now) for credit card theft and possession of 2 fake id's.

My charges went from felonies to a misd for the simple fact that I was under age and it was my first time being arrested. I got an attorney and he made sure my records were going to be close for when I searched a job later on in my future and so it was done because I've been able to get good jobs and they have checked my backround and I've been good.

The judge only gave me 3 years probabiton out of 5. Now my question is I've been on probabition for 1 year and 6 months and I've been working going to skool and have not gotten in trouble ever since. Do you think I could get probation off if I already served at least a yr and a half and been working and going to school and have never gotten in trouble ever since? Please someone help me I need to know. Or what advice do you give me. Thanks

You need to realize that you were given a huge break in the first place. Wait until you have been successfully on probation for at least 2 years before asking. The judge may or may not want to listen to your request so be prepared to just do the time and be happy that you may get your record sealed upon successful completion. The judge wants to make sure you understand the gravity of your charges. You sound like you are more interested in skipping free and clear down the road not remembering why you got in trouble in the first place. Don't rock the boat.

I disagree with the twinkie, I am on probation from Va and was told once half my time was completed and I paid all fines I could get off probation. Also Illinois said the same thing. I transferred probation to Illinois. Also I was told by my PO that if I had all my fines paid and was compliant I could get a attorney to help me get off even earlier. Just cause they are called experts doesn't make them one. Hope that helps.
    Peace!
