OK I'm a pregnant 17 year old with messed up parents. My dad has costody of me. He kicked me out at 16 years old and I moved in with my fiance', got a job, and moved on with my life. Well my father has been harassing me since because he's a drug addict and dealer. He applied for ssi, disability, and other financial aids for me claiming I was mentally retarded. Well I'm not. And he's getting benefits for having me 'in his costody'. He lies to the courts saying I'm running away all the time and hitting him and I'm pretty much nuts. I'm not. Last night I got fed up after he shut my med-i-cal off and left threatening messaging telling me to run far and watch my back and called a friend of mine who happens to be a undercover norcodics officer and what do you know, the found almost 2 ounces of meth in the first 30 minutes plus scales, baggies, everything except the f'n lab. Well he's a ex-con, and on poral and not coming back. Well being 17 if he gets mad at me which he is, can he send cps after me and my fiance'? Were getting married in 8 days with my mothers concent, but should I worry until then?

What state do you live in? With the problems your dad as it seems like he has bigger problems. Are you enrolled in school or GED program? Save all the messages he is sending you. You seems very responsible and that's what your going have to prove to the judge if you end up in family court. Also, the reason I ask what state your in is because age of consent vary by state, but how old is he?

If he decides to "send the Police after you" it will take them longer than 8 days to get papers in place so I wouldn't worry about that. I would assume he's been arrested for violating parole with the meth, particularly if he was already on parole - ?

As far as harassing you, save the messages because you might need them. If you feel you are in danger you can always attempt to get a restraining order - either now or after you marry.

I don't understand what benefits he's receiving on your behalf - he would have to present proof if he is claiming some sort of physical/mental illness. Benefits don't just get awarded. Or did he apply and he was turned down - ?

The bottom line is - he really sounds like he's in no place to do anything and doesn't have time to do anything, no matter how upset with you he is.

If your dad got arrested and he had custody of you at that time then yes the police would be looking for you too. Also you mentioned that your 17.. you can't marry at 17. How old is the boyfriend ? In California your not emancipated until you HAVE the baby.. being pregnant doesn't cut it. Also if your dad has custody of any kind in the legal part then you couldn't get married without his permission. If you go through with a pretend marriage it can always be contested later. You need to wait. When the baby is born file for custody and child support right away. Don't wait.

You need to make absolutely certain that you can marry with just your mom's permission. Have you gotten a license yet?

You also need to document what your father is doing. If he's trying to get benefits based on false medical issue for you then you need to report that to the authorities.
