    Chapter 7 bankruptcy
My girlfriend's house is going into foreclosure and the company handling the second mortgage is after her for $100,000. Our option is to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy. However, she has no monthly income, and very little equity in the house (maybe a couple grand total), so what will happen if she was to file for chapter 7? Will she lose whatever is considered equity? Will they still come after her for the remaining money owed on the second mortgage? Thank you for helping me

Your girlfriend should make an appointment with a bankruptcy attorney and see if there is any benefit to her for a Chapter 7 filing. Generally the consultation is free or low cost to find out your options.
