Too frequent erection!
Hi
Well I've scoured the internet and I can't find help with my problem.
Basially I am 28 years old and find that I get too easily sexually aroused! I'm expecting all the following posts to say that I am lucky but it is actually a real problem.
I go swimming a lot now to get used to being around naked men which may seem weird but basically if I am naked in front of anybody I find that an instant turn-on. I stay in the showers with my shorts on with men showering around me and I can usually contain myself but feel a bit self-concious but when I take my shorts off I get aroused straight away and have to cover myslef quickly.
I'm not gay and don't find any attraction to other men at all. I don't care if I see naked men or if they see me but have a real complexity about being naked because I am very aware. I'm 28 and have sex 3 times now which may be the cause. I'm activelly dating so maybe having people (girls) seeing my body will help this so that I can eventually be naked in front of girls and not get aroused. Last time I had sex (many years ago!) I had sex a few times but then sat naked with the girl for a few hours where I was still naked and my erection didn't go away. Just having somebody see me naked is a real turn on whether it's a male or female.
If I type 'erecion problems' into Google I get results of people who can't get erections! I can't believe it. I'd love to be in the showers with other men and just not care. That would be my dream! How do you not get erections when people are looking at your naked body? It just happens.
I don't always feel sexually aroused either. Like if you get an erection in the morning it is not actually sexual, same as me. If I'm naked, even if no-one is around I get an erection.
Any idea? Will it stop?
Bobby

Have you tried frequent masterbation? Often this will desensitize you and might do the trick. Im a woman, what do I know!

Hi,
At 64, I'm jealous, too!
If this is really a serious problem, as you are saying, I would see a Doctor. I am not a Doctor, nor a Professional in this area.
A Doctor can give some good advice, and I am sure there is a medication that help you control it. I do wish you the best.

Yes I have to say that I bit my tougue yesterday and waited today to answer this. At my age, while I understand the problem, it is hard not to almost wish for it.
But seriously, I would say that you may wish to visit a doctor, since it has to do with blood flow and other issues, a medical check up is never a bad idea.

For some, it's a blessing, but for those of you who, at this age, have a problem with sexuality - you need to talk to a professional about it.
If it's something, anything at all, in your life that you cannot 'control', then you need help in being able to do just that. Take control over your body, as well as feeling, and other 'addictions'. This is just as much an addiction as drugs, nicotine, food types, etc, as any other.
The help you'll get in controlling this aspect in your life will be more rewarding to you than the stress that it's causing at this time. So, please do what you can to get rid of the stress that is plaguing you daily, and good luck dear.
Finding out 'why' sometimes leads to relief!

Do cold showers help? Is there anything you can focus on that can distract you? I agree that a DR. is probably the best advice in a situation such as this, if you can not spontaneously control the little fella.Do you ejaculate normally? How about your urine? These are some things a Dr. can address.
* side note* I wish my hubby had this " problem"

This probably does not apply to you but since you mentioned sitting naked with a girl for several hours and maintaning an erection all that time you might look up (priapism.) The one suggestion that you masturbate would not apply if you did have proapism, I know you just tire yourself out and still are hard. I know some guys on here are going t0o wish for it but don't, I have seen it and it is a very excruciating thing.

This is a good thought, Priapisms are usually thought to be connected with spinal injury, however...
Goaskalice.columbia.edu
Priapism is a prolonged and painful erection that can last from several hours up to a few days. The priapismic erection is NOT associated with sexual thoughts or sexual activity. What happens is that blood flows into the penis, but is unable to drain as it would in a normally flaccid penis. Considering that the penis provides little room for blood to circulate, the blood becomes stagnant after a while, acidifies, and loses oxygen. Without oxygen, the red blood cells become stiff, and even less able to squeeze their way out of the penis.
Very few cases of priapism are without an obvious cause. In most cases, priapism results from one of two things: certain medications or medical conditions. Under the category of medications, there are two primary culprits. For one, penile injections used to treat some forms of impotence can cause priapism; however, this usually only happens when a man decides, on his own, to increase the dosage. Second, psychiatric medications, such as anti-depressants, seem to cause some cases of priapism; however, how these drugs affect priapism is unclear. The second major cause of priapism is certain medical conditions and diseases -- generally, any that cause the blood to thicken, or cause red blood cells to lose their flexibility and mobility. Sickle-cell anemia and leukemia are probably the most common conditions that cause priapism.

Most men will seek treatment for this painful erection before it goes

Hi Bobby,
After reading all that's been said, I think that the key to your problem lies behind the phrase above: you need to address it carefully, to understand it properly, this might help you solve the problem.
I agree with cherry that you should see a professional.
I think you should discuss it with a therapist.
Good luck,
Millie
:)
p.s. sorry cherry, they won't let me express my agreement the short way!

Hi everybody,
Thanks very much for all your help and advice. I'm not to sure about seeing a Dr. Seems a bit extreme. Normally I can just avoid embarrassing situations instead!
Had it again at the weekend. Was camping and was planning to come out of the showers and just get dressed in front of anyone if they were there but the idea of it just turned me on really. It felt quite exciting, almost naughty! Anyway, I couldn't obviously do that when aroused so had to wait for it to go down which eventually happened.
I thought I would be getting a few comments from jelous people. I guess one day I'll be glad of it?
Thanks again for the comment and welcome to Andy who has joined this post with a similar problem. That was part of my reason for the post so people realise that it happens to others too!

This reminds me of a story, true too, when I was taking a figure drawing class in college. We sketched a different model each class and once had a young man who became unexpectedly and quite uncontrollably half erect. The instructor, who was usually looking out the window, caught on when one of the girls giggled. He threw the robe on him and yanked him outside. We could hear the tone of the words and all I could think of was "poor guy will be scarred for life!"
I am not suggesting you take up nude modeling or even figure drawing but apart from showering in front of other males, its no more embarrassing than the obvious and frequent, ahem... "highbeams" I get that make all the guys look mid-chest when they talk to me. I mean even the gay guy looks, good grief! It tends to make me feel like breaking into a lecture about all the things that stiffen nipples and most are not sexual too blah blah blah but instead I just get flustered, which I hate. LOL So maybe more practice taking it in cheerful stride for both of us, eh? And whenever I feel stressed over my arrangement, I will think of yours too and smile. Deal?

Bobby,
I feel for you dude. I have the same problem and I'm 42. I stayed out of sprots when I was young because of the showering after events. One time I got hard in the high school locker room. I made eye contact with one guy I know saw it. He never told anyone that I know of and I never heard anything about it. I guess back then guys might have said 'what were you looking down there for' if anyone said anything, but you don't have to be looking to notice that. I just got a physical and it was starting to pop but he was just finishing up. What a relief when he said I could pull my pants up. Damn, I wish I could control it.
I got a hot tub in my back yard (I'm single) and I'm worried about bringing a girl back because if I even think about a girl naked in there - I'm hard. Will she think I'm a total perv or what. I mean hopefully we would get to the point where I should be hard, but I'm going to be hard before we even get our clothes off. I'm thinking normally a guy would not be hard right away when stripping in this situation. Girls - help me out - what would you think?
Anyway Bobby, just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Hang in there bud.
