    92 civic, cv 2dr hatch, 1.5L, distributor
Over the last 2 months Ive noticed a noise coming from my car. Several weeks ago I foud where it was coming from. It was my distributor.
I found a decent priced one 148... bran new. But need to know if it is something that can be replaced by someone with no automotive experience?

Since the noise is coming from the distributor, would that be the source of the problem? It wouldn't be making a noise say if the timing belt is getting worn or something along those lines right? I noticed also, My car would seemingly flood out (this happened quite often over the last 3 years) and I would have to let it set before starting. Do you think it may have been a timing problem from the distributor?
Sorry but funds are tight and I would like to be able to fix the problem as inexpensively as possible.

    Thanks, Doug

The noise is likely the bearing in the distributor going, which you should be able identify and isolate by using a mechanic's stethoscope or large-handle screwdriver. The grease wears out, which is oil in a soap carrier, the bearing fails, internal sensors are wiped out, red or orange dust coats everything inside the distributor, and the ignition fails. It may have contributed to your flooding problem.

Here's how to replace the distributor yourself:
