These two kids grow up together, a boy and a girl.she can't really walk all that well, so he always carries her around.they grow up and fall in love, but he has to go to war.I think it was the war between the germany and poland.so he goes off and little bit later the girl gets a letter saying that he is dead, but she doesn't believe it. She goes off to fin him. One part in the movie, she is sitting in a café and a woman over hears what she is tell another person and the boy, and this other lady gets up and on a black chalkboard, she wipes off every word but leaves on
