    Am I being illegally evicted and what can I do? (PA)
    I moved into a friend's home in April of this year, and as the saying goes "you don't really know someone until you've lived with them"... Last week my "friend" decided I was to get off the property by 9-1-08. That was 12 days away at that point. We have no written agreement, I just give my portion of rent and bills... I feel this is unfair, with such short notice.. I've got about 5 days left and I can't find anywhere to go. What can I legally do?
    Any help is much appreciated.

    In PA your landlord has to give you at least 15 days notice that your tenancy is terminated. If you haven't moved within those 15 days then your landlord can file a lawsuit for eviction.

    If they change the locks, call the police. It's illegal for them to change the locks without a judgment for eviction and a sheriff or constable present.
