    Clogged Sweat Glands
CLOGGED SWEAT GLAND?! My cute, 5 year old, grandson has a small (smaller than the head of a pencil) bump above his left eye right below his eyebrow. When pressed it feels semi hard. His doctor says that it is a clogged sweat gland and needs to have a plastic surgeon remove. No swelling.. no puss... no change... for 2 years?? This doesn't follow what I've been reading on different web sites?? Any ideas?

    Hi nanalisa,

I have had the same, but mine was on my back, and below my eyebrow, much bigger than a pencil head though.

Mine was there for a few years ,they are not dangerous, only unsightly if on your face... the eyebrow one was quite small.

I was told the same... they woud have to be removed by a doctor, but I did it myself... I AM NOT ADVISING YOU DO THE SAME OK...

Basically it's only a big bump full of puss, once you pierced it and cleaned everything out,it then heals after a few weeks and is just fine again.

They for some reason can return but thankfully mine hasn't.

    Basically nothing to worry about...

These do need to be surgically removed. As was mentioned above, it's basically a pocket of puss. HOWEVER, this pus can get infected. Since the sweat glands are near siunses (basically holes in the head), these sinuses can get infected and this infection can leech up to the brain via the sinuses.
