It was supposed to be Hillary's coronation; now, will Bill kiss the ring?
Bill seems to be having a tougher time than Hillary. "...The former president is disappointed, associates said, because he is eager to speak about the economy and more broadly about Democratic ideas — emphasizing the contrast between the Bush years and his own record in the 1990s.

"This is an especially sore point for Bill Clinton, people close to him say, because among many grievances he has about the campaign Obama waged against his wife is a belief that the candidate poor-mouthed the political and policy successes of his two terms."
"One senior Obama supporter said the Clinton associates negotiating on her behalf act like 'Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over.'”

Bill should be having a rougher time. Nobody twisted his arm. The former president should had used his campaigning time more wisely during the Democrat primaries. He chose a personal negative tone against Barack, instead of helping his wife on issues. Not much different then what John McCain's campaign is currently doing. It's just a matter of time before the backlash.

You're right, 'cept there won't be any backlash against McCain. It's going to be, "Go get 'em!" Elections are not for the faint of heart; the vast, vast majority of folks know nothing about them, other than what they are fed on TV.

Whoaa Nellie: "A number of Sen. Hillary Clinton's top advisers will not be staying in Denver long enough to hear Barack Obama accept the nomination for president, according to sources familiar with their schedules.

"Clinton will deliver her speech Tuesday night. She will hold a private meeting with her top financial supporters Wednesday at noon, and will thank her delegates at an event that afternoon. Former president Bill Clinton will speak that night. Several of Hillary Clinton's supporters are then planning to leave town -- among them, Terry McAuliffe, Clinton's campaign chairman. Another of Clinton's top New York fundraisers, Alan Patricof, did not make the trip to Denver." Clinton Advisers Skipping Obama Speech | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

George, that uneducated rah-rah negative crap only works for so long. I'm optimistic that America won't be fooled into a another third term of Republican Reich hell fire and brimstone.

    Hello George:

I'll betcha Skygem is going to leave too...

But, in the final analysis, the real Hillary supporters will NOT vote to overturn Roe v Wade, which is what a vote for John McCain is.

Yes, some of them will, but those people truly don't understand the issues. Nobody said you have to be smart to vote.

Bill Clinton thinks he's owed something. He ain't. We were owed the truth, and he didn't deliver. We oughta throw him under the bus.

Surely they have been through all this; if I were Obama, I'd give her whatever she wanted; make Bill an ambassador to Kenya, perhaps.

Evita's campaign manager Maggie Williams, met privately last night in Denver to plot convention strategy with Clintoon delegates .After some back and forth debate it was decided that delegates still loyal to Evita , even after her appeals to support Obama, should “vote their conscience.”Williams said her “vote your conscience” line should not be interpreted as an act of sabotage against Obama.

Obama has recruited former Clintonista Craig Smith to head up a rapid response team to contain any floor demonstrations by Evita's loyalists. What they think Smith will do when face-to-face with a PUMA is anyone's guess. Already demonstations outside the convention hall are getting heated . Obama supporters are saying that the Clintonoids are acting like "Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over, " and calling them "bitter enders."

This includes some of the prominent Democrat Super delegates . Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, while speaking in a panel discussion at Denver's Brown Palace Hotel with NBC's Tom Brokaw, ABC's George Stephanopoulous and CBS's Bob Schieffer, railed at the media for their part in what he called the media's "embarrassing" coverage of Barack Obama in the 2008 election coverage.

Rendell stated, "MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign," and then said Chris Matthews,"loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons.” ( a tingle up his leg ?)

On the other side , Ill. State Senate President Emil Jones who is another of Obama's political mentors, called Delmarie Cobb, a black Evita delegate , an "Uncle Tom."

The Denver Post reports that the Obots have hit upon a scheme to head off trouble by making delegates vote from their hotel rooms, thereby preventing dangerous concentrations of Evita delegates from forming on the floor.
“The move being worked out between the Obama campaign and officials behind Clinton's suspended bid, would work in two parts: Delegates would cast votes at their hotels Wednesday morning; that night, at the Pepsi Center convention site, the roll-call process would rely on the votes cast that morning, the delegates said. ”
Obama, Clinton camps working on hotel roll-call vote - The Denver Post
But Evita delegates are resisting it. “We just want a roll call like you're supposed to have,”

For her part ;with the gaps in the polls narrowing ,Evita does not want the perception that she derailed the Democrat nominee from winning the election. That is why she is so desperately speaking out in favor of Obama. Her delegates are not buying it ;and Bill has absolutely no reason to buy into it. He sees a Hillary run in 2012 if BO loses or a 2016 run if he wins. The first Philanderer has already been on the outside more than he can tolerate . Also BO personally mocked Bill by announcing his VEEP selection at 3AM .

They put him on the night when national security is the theme. He would've preferred to speak tonight when the economy is the theme. But expect him to take credit for the military's successes in the last 8 years . The Politico is reporting that he has been ordered to say that BO would be a better CinC than McCain.
Tensions boil between Obama-Clinton camps - John F. Harris and Mike Allen - Politico.com

Other ways that Dean the Scream and the Obots have gone out of their way to punish Evita supporters :
Michigan and Florida have been reinstated after it will no longer do her any good. (“she can win the large important swing states” )

Tonight Colorado Senator Ken Salazar is hosting a reception at Zengo and Rep. Chris Van Hollen honors the House Democratic Caucus at the Museum of Nature and Science starting at the time of Evita's speech tonight. The hall could be close to half empty.

New York delegation is seated behind North Dakota on the convention floor and
West Virginia got the worse seats in the house.
Evita supporter Charlie Rangel wasn't given any speaking role at the convention ;but turncoat Bill Richardson got a prime time slot.

While there is always a smaller percentage of opposition at the conventions, including the Republicans, i.e. Ron Paul, it was mentioned last night on CNN that there is even more bad news for the Republicans on the horizon. There are reports that apparently Bill Clinton now wants to redeem his tarnished reputation due to the primary onslaught, unite the Democrat party further, and will use his orator skills at the convention to give the Republicans a tongue lashing.

And the beat goes on... "The former president, speaking in Denver, posed a hypothetical question in which he seemed to suggest that that the Democratic Party was making a mistake in choosing Obama as its presidential nominee.

"He said: 'Suppose for example you're a voter. And you've got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don't think that person can deliver on anything. Candidate Y disagrees with you on half the issues, but you believe that on the other half, the candidate will be able to deliver. For whom would you vote?'

"Then, perhaps mindful of how his off-the-cuff remarks might be taken, Clinton added after a pause: 'This has nothing to do with what's going on now.'" TheHill.com

"Former Clinton aide and Democratic strategist Paul Begala, however, told The Hill that the former president is solidly behind Obama's candidacy.

"He's totally for Barack," Begala said Tuesday. "He's totally for Barack."
    "

Bill's been saying that for months. He's just warming up his vocals to take out his frustration in tomorrow's thrashing of John McCain. As Democrat Super Delegate Donna Brazile of CNN mentioned earlier, "over blown." Republicans are hoping for dissension and the media needs a few stories to placate so in return they can rain fire on McCain's eventual veep pick and the upcoming Pub snore fest convention.

The party-pooper-in-chief keeps on keeping on: "Bill Clinton will not attend Obama's Invesco speech". I expect Mr. Obama will have lots of nice things to say about Hillary in the speech. And do not expect this development will diminish Obama at all. Get ready George. I suggest that you run cool water across your wrists. Your blood pressure is going to rise more.

This just in! More bad news for the Republicans. Hillary just finished up her speech and by far the majority of media analysis commented that it was great for the Democrat party. The floor delegates are uniting. It was just reported on CNN that Obama just spoke with Hillary and Bill congratulating on a job well done. Bill will be using McCain for a piñata tomorrow.

Yeah I'm sure Clintoon is worried about his legacy . Clearly it was tarnished by events after he left. The first salvo actually was sending Sandy Berger to perform a theft at the National Archives so the paper trial could be destroyed.

As far as party unity ;Evita did what was asked of her but clearly her heart is not in it ,and neither in the rest of the Clintonoids .She will hold a private meeting with her top financial supporters today at noon, and will thank her delegates at an event .

Bill will speak tonight and is speech will be full of red meat and venom against President Bush . What is less clear is how supportive he will be of BO in the address.

Several of Evita's supporters are then planning to leave town. Among them, Terry McAuliffe, Clinton's campaign chairman, and longtime supporters Steve Rattner and Maureen White. The PUMAs will exit stage left leaving tomorrow for the OBots.
