    Over-dyed hair
I've just about dyed my hair to death... early this summer (June) I dyed wanted to add some highlights... so I used lemon juice. This started to work but I got impatient. I bought some sun-in. This turned my naturally medium brown hair somewhat orange.. very brassy. I bought some box dye (in August) and tried to get it natural again.. the colors were too warm, and it was sort of reddish. I do not look good as a red head. After a month I decided it would be good to add some highlights.. I used a box that had an all over medium brown (ash) color then step two had highlights. I did a horrible job highlighting.. I don't recommend this at home by yourself. Have a friend help you to get the dye even. The highlights turned orange and I must have left them in too long. I hated it. So even though I had just dyed my hair, I bought a box of dark brown dye. This is the closest to happy I have been with my hair, but it has a purple-ish look. I'm lucky I still have hair right now!

Will this wash out and fade away if it's permanent? Or should I look into re-dying? I'm afraid with all I've put my hair through this summer I will just break off or fall out. I wish I never touched my hair. Now my hair is really dark, with a purple hint.

I need help. Should I try one last time to lighten it, and get the purple out? I just want a nice natural medium brown look, nothing fancy. Or shoud I leave it alone for a while to see if it fades enough?! Help!

You should really stop dying your hair now. Your hair must be over processed.
You need to get it into a stable condition. Use intensive conditioners regularly.

And to sort out the hair colour, please visit a reputable colourist to sort out the colour and to avoid any more colour disasters.
