The American Left believes in free speech, right?
How about this from Politico:
"Today, Fournier inflamed the netroots yet again, with his (Drudge-worthy) analysis: 'Biden pick shows lack of confidence.'"
...
"Steven Benen, who just moved to the Washington Monthly this week, wrote that Fournier's "objectivity covering the presidential race continues to look shaky." Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas dubbed him "McCain's mole at the Associated Press," a sentiment echoed by MyDD's Jonathan Singer who wrote that he's "effectively serving as a McCain surrogate in talking about the Biden choice."
"And there's plenty more reaction out there -- Crooks and Liars, America Blog, Digby -- including bloggers listing the e-mail addresses of AP executives to contact.
"UPDATE: MoveOn has started a campaign." Michael Calderone's Blog: Fournier inflames the netroots UPDATE - Politico.com
For the American Left, diversity of opinion is a dirty idea.

No, freedom of speech and diversity means as long as you do not offend them.
Differing opinions NOT welcome!
Fairness doctrine proves that.
Also Random House is not publishing a book because it could offend Muslims
Random House Caves To Muslims
Yet anything to do with Christianity is considered art like urine and Jesus or Mary
So nothing against Muslims or anti Christians but it shows that the political agenda and authorities and so forth DO draw lines according to their own desires and interests.

But they do have the freedom to protest and express their opinon, though I may disagree.

George : free speech is not the same as agreeing or supporting with whatever is posted or published.
The US "freedom of speech" means that if one side wants to publish something wrong and/or stupid, they are free to do so, but the opposing side may counter that with publishing something wrong and/or stupid also, and they are free to do so too.
:D  :p ;) :D

So what happens when you get crossed-up with Obama? It isn't competition between ideas and candidates; rather, run to the government and sic the police on you. It looks Clintonesque with FBI files in the White House, all over again. "Obama's campaign has written the Department of Justice demanding a criminal investigation of the “American Issues Project,” the vehicle through which Dallas investor Harold Simmons is financing the advertisements. The Obama campaign — and tens of thousands of supporters — also is pressuring television networks and affiliates to reject the ads. The effort has met with some success: CNN and Fox News are not airing the attacks." Further, "Bauer's letter called on the Justice Department to open 'an investigation of the American Issues Project; its officers and directors; and its anonymous donors, whoever they may be.'” So much for "land of the free". Unfortunately McCain would probably side with Obama on this issue. McCain-Feingold being the ultimate violation of the 1st Amendment .
As far as Obama's relationship with Ayers... he still has some splainin to do . His line that Ayers was a casual acquaintance was bunk. As often happens ;Obama needs at least 3 attempts at explanation with some attacks like the above thrown in (for violating Obama Rules #4) to come close to the truth . Then he tosses them under the bus.

As NO points out, the lefties have an on-going project to resurrect the "fairness doctrine" which would be used to silence conservative talk shows. They can't make a success of anything to compete, so they want to silence the opposition. That is definitely un-American and hypocritical, regardless of WHO does it.
