    Limiting Reactants
    Can you tell me if I did this right

    Mg + I2 -> MgI2
    identify the limiting reactants

    A) 100 atoms of Mg and 100 molecules of I2

    100 atoms Mg* 1mol/6.02E32 * 24g Mg/ 1 mol =3.99E-21g Mg
    100 molecules I2 * 1 mol/6.02E23 * 258g I2/ 1 mol = 4.28E-20g I2
    3.99E-21g Mg * 1mol/ 24g Mg * 1mol MgI2/1 mol Mg * 282g MgI2/1mol = 4.68E-20g MgI2
    4.28E-20g I2 * 1 mol/ 258g I2 * 1 mol MgI2/1mol I2 * 282g MgI2/1mol = 4.68E-20g MgI2
    no limiting reactant

    B) 200 atoms of Mg and 300 molecules of I2

    200 atoms Mg * 1mol/6.02E23 * 24g/ 1 mol =7.97E-21g Mg
    300 molecules I2 * 1mol/6.02E23 * 258g/1 mol = 1.29E-19g I2
    7.97E-21g Mg * 1mol/24 g Mg * 1mol MgI2/1mol Mg * 282g MgI2/1mol = 9.36E-20g MgI2
    1.29E-19g I2 * 1mol/ 258g I2 * 1mol MgI2/1mol I2 * 282g MgI2/1mol = 1.41E-19 MgI2
    limiting reactant I2

    C) .12 mol Mg and .08 mol I2
    .12 mol Mg *1mol MgI2/1mol Mg * 282g MgI2 = 33.84g MgI2
    .08 mol I2 * 1mol MgI2/1mol Mg * 282g MgI2 = 22.56 MgI2
    limiting reactant I2
