    Calypso washer will not drain
    Model #110.22062102

I have read about many problems with this type washer and it not draining. I have opened it up and cleaned out all the hoses (lots of lint and 4 underwires... ) and also pulled the pump (didn't find anything in here and it seems to turn free) twice! I have also checked the drain hose and it is not clogged. It still refuses to drain! How can I verify that the pump is working? Any other ideas to try?
There is a small ball down near the drain outlet in the tub. Is this supposed to be here? I don't see how it could get here unless it was put here during manufacture...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Big Schmid,
I can't answer how to verify the pump is working but, I'm at the point it looks like you were back in August. I've had this washer for years and had the pump changed out to the new one a few years ago. Every once in a while, I'll get the dreaded LD, oB, etc. Today, it happened again. I decided if I couldn't fix it myself the unit was going on the curb.

Anyway, I found the bra wire with muck around it like you did. Hopefully that will fix it. I will know in about 15 minutes. I found your post because of the little yellow ball near the drain. Since you found one too, I can only imagine that it's there for a reason. I was about to pull it out until I read your post. It must create necessary turbulence.

    Good luck.

    Dawg,

I finally got mine to drain after cleaning it out again. When I pulled out the underwire the lint was allowed to flow through and clogged the pump. Its been good for about a month now! You are right on the ball, it closes the opening on the one side and allows the water to flow out the drain hose.

Good luck! Hope yours is draining again...
