Maybe you could try saying before she gets a chance that you are working on losing weight and some things that you are doing to try and lose like cutting back on whatever.
Then maybe it will take the edge of things feeling as harsh.

There are other ways you can lose weight without a diet, remember that. And they occur painlessly, if you know what I mean. Have you ever tried to chew your food until it becomes liquid before swallowing? Try this, in the long run, it has its little effect, if you don't like diets. Of course, you will need some more time to eat all your food, but that works. That's not a reply for your actual question but a solution to lose weight, painlessly.

But of course, a diet, physical exercises (swimming best), etc.. Make you lose weight faster, but you kind of 'suffer' in a way, which I think you are trying to avoid.

    Good luck for your appointment

And you really think you can manage that?
All she requires to know is your weigth and your length, to calculate the body index. And if she is a good nurse, she will measure these.

Example : If you weigh 70 Kilos and are 195 Cm, you are too light. And if you weigh that same 70 kilos, but are 165 Cm, you are too heavy. May be go there as a balloon salesperson, carrying a bunch of helium balloons when on the scales. If that is impossible wear high heeled shoes while she is measuring your heigth.

Better prepare yourself for being put on a diet. It can't be that bad, is it not?

    Success

    :)

I think that that's kind of normal. Perhaps you have once tried a diet and you felt bad? Or that you once didn't have food for such a long period that yo know how it feels to be hungry? Anyway, be courageous. Your nurse will do only good, she wouldn't harm you, right?

Health care providers just want you to be healthy. That is important to remember. They are not saying what they are saying to be mean. I like the first suggestion- say that you are trying. But then it is important that you do try. My husband and I recently went to a nutritionist, it was very informative and helpful. Portion sizes are smaller then what we are used too here in the US
