    Icing up
I turned the A/C on for the first time this season and the unit iced up. This is a heat pump and it worked fine during the heating season. Could it just be low on freon? Any other sugestions?

    Hi,
I am not a Professional in this area, but also have a heat pump and have had the experience of it "icing up".
First, I would check your filter(s), be sure they are not clogged off.
Also, check your "vanes" on the sides of the heat pump, but sure grass, spider webs, etc, haven't clogged off the vanes. If you spray water on them, don't use high pressure; it will close off the vanes, pressing them together. This air drawn in cools down the compressor.
If that is OK, then probably it is low on freon. Best of luck.
