To Whom It May Concern:
My Boyfriend is a citizen of Spain and currently lives there, but would like to obtain residency in the United States. He is coming at the end of September to the United States to file any papers that he needs to in order to get the process started. He is coming to the United States with his Passport which is from Spain, and I believe he is allowed to stay in the U.S. for a maximum of 90 days. Which papers does he need to file first, where can he get them, what documents does he need for this process. Also, can he legally work while he is in the United States? If not, what can he do to be able to work legally in the United States? And what can I do to prevent any difficultly he may have with Immigration and Customs at the airport? I read that a letter of invitation from me with the purpose of his trip here to the U.S. stated in the letter may be helpful. This is my first time dealing with this process since I am a U.S. citizen so any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did he get a job offer in US? OR Are you going to marry him within these 90 days?
Does he have any family members in US who can sponsor green card for him?

To answer your questions he does not have a job offer here in the U.S. and as of yet we are not planning to get married in the 90 days that he will be able to stay here. He has a brother in law, sister and an aunt who have permanent residency in the United States but I don't know if they qualify as family who can sponsor a green card for him.
