    Child support
I live in Florida and my ex lives in Iowa. My child support enforcement is through Illinois. Who do I contact for getting an increase? It's been 11 years and I've never had an increase.

Does he make significantly more than he did when it was ordered eleven years ago? I have known of people to go the entire eighteen years with out an increase so eleven really dosen't surprise me. You would have to go through the court with jurisdiction in your case IL. How long have you lived in Florida?

Yes he does make more. Do I need an attorney in IL or should I go through the state? I have lived in FL 2 yrs.

You don't absolutely have to have a lawyer but you might want one. You can also petition the court to allow Florida to take over the case because you have lived there long enough to establish residency. That would also be subject to the father allowing the change because he could argue it stay there because the two of you don't live in the same state but it is just something to think about. Just keep in mind that if he dosen't make enough more money that it might not be granted and I have even seen it go down. In no way am I trying to discourage you just want you to know ahead of time.
