A possible solution to the problem would depend on whether the drawers are painted, plain wood or wood that has some kind of finish on it. If the insides of the drawers are painted, you could apply a couple of light coats of Deft spray lacquer if it's the paint that is causing your clothes to smell the way that they do. If the insides of the drawers are plain wood or wood that has some kind of clear finish on it, you could also apply light coatings of Deft spray lacquer.

If there is some kind of paint or clear finish already on the insides of the drawers, it's very important to use the Deft very lightly, because there is the possibility that Deft will lift either of the other two types of finishes if Deft is applied too heavily.

You could also take all of the drawers out and apply some kind of finish to the outside of them and also the inside surface areas of the dresser.

You can buy really lovely drawer liners that smell beautiful... lavender, rose , gardinier. Lily of the valley.

Just pop them in the drawer, problem solved.

Every time you open your drawer you will have a lovely aroma of what ever perfumed liner you chose...
