A very cheap home studio doesn't need much. A small enclosed space. A bathroom, my brother used to use my walking closet (which was annoying.. he can't rap well... ).. he laid the tracks differently. Some times just listened to an instrumental on an iPod and recorded his rhymes on a mp3 with recording features. Then mixed them on the computer with audacity... once again a cheap way of doing it.
