There really is no cure for Eczema. If your regular physician did not prescribe any kind of cream or medicine to use for it, there are some over the counter medications that work really well. Such as using lotions with oatmeal in it (such as Aveeno-there are also some cheaper generic versions of this as well). You can use body wash with Oatmeal in it.
    Hydrocortisone creams work as well.

Exederm is suppose to be one of the better ones
    I can't remember the other.

    Aloe might also be soothing.

Also take a flaxseed oil supplement and zinc and cut out foods that worsen it
Most common foods which trigger eczema symptoms in some people include: cow's milk, eggs, soya, wheat, fish, and nuts.

Also avoid some soaps and cleaning supplies, do not take bubblebaths.
You can bath in soothing oils.

    Eczema also known as dermatitis.

Try using emmolients... moisturizers. A very good one is E45 cream for dry skin conditions.

Sometimes a mild steriod like... hydrcortisone (eg. Dermacont or Lanacont)

Any stronger steroids would have to be perscibed by your GP.

With the hydrocotisones my daughter tried both the ointment and the cream.
She said one worked and the other didn't.
Also vitamins A, D and E I think is suppose to be good.
You can try the A & D ointment drug stores sell in the skin care aisle.

I have this condition also, and have been to the doctor over it time and time again.

There are many factors that you should be aware of that can make it flare up. I've googled successfully on it, so I suggest you do the same as well as it could very well help you prevent severe future outbreaks.

The main thing I've noticed is that it seems to get real bad when I'm under an enormous amount of stress.

I have it on my ankle, which sucks because that is one of the many most beautiful parts on a woman's body (in my opinion).

If you can get to a doctor, I truly believe that is the best way to go. The prescription meds work wonderfully.

However, if finances cause you not to be able to seek a physician's advice any time soon, you have been given some wonderful recommendations.

I've used all of these things, they help me out tremendously.

Good luck with whatever you try. ;)
