    Flood water and stuck throttle.
A few weeks ago it had been raining very heavily and I drove through some flood water (probably up to my doors). Once I hit the water my car began to stall out. Eventually it started running OK so I kept going. Now when I crank it up in the morning the throttle keeps sticking and running at high RPM. After running for a while it goes back to normal, but I'm sure its not good for the engine... definately not good for my brakes... to be running at such a high RPM. The car is a 1990 Toyota Celica.. if that helps any. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks. D.

Don't know if this is the issue, but I used to have a Datsun that would run rough after going through puddles. It turned out that water was getting into the distributor cap. I don't know if you have the same problem, but it's something easy to check.

. Remove distributor cap, spray with WD-40, and wipe off excess.

. Wipe spark plug wires and coil wires with silicone spray.

. Apply dielectric grease to ends of spark plug and coil wires.

If the problem continues, it may be the alternator was damaged (FR signal).

Is your check engine light on? I would have a diagnostic test done to read if any of the components are running outside of their specifications.

I'm putting in a new sprayer, and I can't get the water line loose for the life of me. I've tried every wrench I own, but because of the lack of space or lacking a good grip, to no avail. I read somewhere I needed a 'basin wrench', but after calling a few places this isn't exactly a tool you can...
