    F1 to L2 Visa
    Hello all,

I just got my F1 visa about a month ago. I am now moved to US. My parents just notified me that they successfully got the L1 visa, so I can have a L2 visa. I wish to have L2 visa, because that means I can go to public school unlike F1 visa. However, how do I get transfer to L2 visa? I have applied 3 years for my F1 visa. Do I have to wait for 3 years?

    Please help! Thank you!!

If your parents have included your name in the petition, you will receive L-2 at the same time with them. If you're not included, you may apply for L-2 at the US embassy in your country. You must notify the school that issued I-20 that your status has changed and you are no longer a F-1 holder.
