Me and my boyfriend have been trying to get pregnant for about a month now. I'm 22 years old and I have a 3 year old already and he has a 2 year old as well. He has gone to the doctor and had tests done showing that he is very fertile. I have never had a problem becoming pregnant before until now. I just recently about a month and a half ago had a cyst burst in my ovary. Does that mean that I will never be able to conceive again? Please someone help me figure this out so we can complete our family.

A month? You've been trying for just a month?

Be more patient. Most docs won't even talk about issues with conception until you've been trying for a year without success. A large percentage will conceive within a year (not a month) and of those who don't, half will conceive in the next year. I believe something like 95% conceive within this two year period.

As for ovarian cysts, my wife had great success with exercise, massage, and acupuncture in battling cysts and adhesions. Western med had told her to take drugs or cut out her uterus. She said no. I have a son because she sought out other methods of treatment... thank God for acupuncture... it's the real deal.

So... deep breath in and out. What you can do in the meantime is optimize your changes. Folic acid, for ex, has long been known to help with neural tube development after conception... but also its been shown to help some with conception itself... so eat well, get good sleep, exercise, take a good multivitamin, even a prenatal, limit smoking, exposure to pollution, limit stress, and relax a little.

Allow yourself some time.

How old are you and how old is he, by the way? What prompted the fertility tests?

I'm 22 and he's 21 yes were young but we both work and take care of our kids. He had a ferility test done with his ex. I've never had to have one done because I had my daughter unexpectedly with my ex fiancé when I was 18 so I never thought about not being able to conceive I just thought it always happened right away. I guess not lol. Thanks for the advice about what your wife did for her cysts it makes me feel better that some people are still successful in childbirth after a cyst. I to was told to get ride of mine or be put on all kinds of medication. I'm going to try some of those methods though. Best Regards

Hello doll21... cysts are quite common and should not normally effect your ability to conceive.

It could be down to the medication you've been taking. So give it a while for everything to return to normal again.

If you are at all concerned visit your GP and tell them of your worries, I'm sure they will be able to put your mind at rest.

There are many kinds of cysts... and many don't cause issues with fertility... but the presence of cysts can indicate conditions which may inhibit your ability to become pregnant.

I know that sounds like circular talk, but it isn't. The cysts might be a result of a condition that itself limits fertility, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome. Cysts can also have no bearing on fertility.

First of all I wish you luck trying, but one month, that's not near long enough to start getting worried... My husband and I are going on 13 months... its not easy but support each other and it will happen eventually!
