Toyota corolla 2006, engine doesn't engage sometimes the first time
My 2006 toyota corolla, engine 1.4 cc, sometimes doesn't want to start the first time. Took it to the garage they are saying nothing wrong, the checks they done: no present fault codes, checked air flow meter. They had my car for just over an hour. But the engine still does not want to engage sometimes. Can anyone help please.

Do you mean the starter motor doesn't engage and try to crank the engine?

When you twist the key in the ignition you can hear the car starting but the engine is not engaging( it doesn't start), I think in States you call it cranking condition.

How many Km are on the car? I'm sure you have a coil-on-plug (COP) ignition system. Have you ever changed the spark plugs? Many COP starting problems involve the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

There is 25 000 on the clock. I am a women so I do not know much about cars, a friend of mine told me that I might have a problem with fuel pressure, but the print out I got from the garage doesn't state that have done this test unless the air flow test it's the same what fuel pressure test. Could you tell me how to ask kitch428 the question please?

There's a good chance kitch428 will see it tonight, after work, since you have the words Toyota Corolla in the title. He tends to primarily respond to questions about Toyotas.

You are right when fuel pressure is mentioned. It's in the fuel pump assy, and it needs to be changed due to this condition. All the fuel pressure is bleeding off after sitting and the pump needs to build up pressure again to get started.
The following technical service bulletin will explain it all. Just click in the pdf file.
Should be still covered under warranty.
