Central A/C fan comes on, compressor does not, until 4 degrees too hot
I replaced my thermostat with a new touch screen that is supposed to do everything but make coffee. It is designed for a 2 stage cooling system, I have a one stage system. The cooling fan comes on at the right time, but the compressor does not turn on until it is 4 degrees too hot.

My cooling system is plugged into stage 2, because it will not come on when plugged into stage one. I have replaced the first one I bought with an identical model, still the same problem. Any ideas?

Why did you buy a 2 stage, 2 times if the first one didn`t work and you don`t have 2 stage system?
