Is it normal for Bryant heater to heat without gas on?
Bryant heater is blowing hot air 130 degrees but I noticed the gas (fire) is NOT blowing over the heat exchanger. It is 100 degrees outside here, and the outside unit was on.

If you have a dual fuel system (heat pump with gas furnace back up) The reversing valve may be stuck or not getting 24 volts to the coil to switch into cooling.

Would the heat pump be able to get the air to 130 degrees without the gas furnace part? The cooling did work fine before and after I tried to test the heat. How can I tell if it is a heat pump? The thersmostat does not have "emergency heat". 1 other thing I did notice there is a thermostat (copper, looks like a pencel) mounted on the outside unit. Bottom line is I need to know if there is a problem with the furnace

Bottom line is we need to know what you have before we can tell you.

Post the model and brand of the outside unit and we will try to look it up to see if it is a heat pump or regular A?C
