Stumped by judge's delay of judgement
me & my husband adopted our 4 grandchildren in dec 2005 (have had them since may 2002) after our son died. The children were being taken away by the state from the maternal mother and we stepped in and adopted them. My husband has not been in our home since may of 2007 because of misconduct with grand daughter.

He never paid but 1 month of support ordered by court in dec. then he quit his job of $50,000 w/ transportation as part of salary. He took an $8 hr job. Then started to pay $266 child support for 4 children . He gave up all visitation and rights to children, but still is suppose to pay.

We couldn't come to terms for division of property, as I was paying ALL of our marital debts and he wanted to get out of marriage with no bills and no support.

We went to court for final divorce in April 2008 and judge was to make division and orders of support. That was over 3 months ago.

I have only 143 dollars month to pay electric, gas, food, etc. after paying OUR marital debts. The judge is suppose to look out for the best interest of the children, but my question is
How long can a judge hold off making a decision.. can I do something to make this move along, as 3 months with no relief and no judgement has really affected my health and well being..
Family members, church, etc have helped us out with food, electric, but if I can't find out how much longer I can be put off, I don't know if I can keep going on as I have.
    I am losing everything.
Please give me any and all information that may pertain to my situation.

Thank you for your insight and help:confused:

    This happened in Missouri
We have in divorce proceedings since may 2007 and went for final in April 2008. Judge was to make speedy and fair judgement and still 3 months later, no divorce.

Your Attorney has the ability to make a motion for an IMMEDIATE decision/Order (often within either 10 or 30 days) based on extreme financial hardship -

    That's what I would do.

I answered you on your other thread and asked that the 2 posts be combined for ease when other people would like to answer -

In brief: Have your Attorney make a motion for an immediate order/decision based on extreme financial hardship.
