    Old Toilet Flange
Right to the point. It looks like I have an old, old poured lead and oakum joint flange? The bolts on the flange rusted off and the "lip" around the pipe began to peel off when I was scraping the wax off. What do I do now? I want to lay tile soon, but I didn't want to rush into it and end up causing a larger problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and the height of the flange should be OK once I lay the tile... I think. Could I cut the flange down with a saw and then replace it with a new one once I am done installing the tile?

Hi, I'm putting a new floor in the bathroom. The tolet flange is higher by 1/4 in on one side and 1/2 in on the other above the floor I'm going to put ceramic tile down. Do I need to level it out or bring the floor up around the flange? Thanks Tim
