This nay be due to a ruptured wax seal that allows sewer gas to escape into your home. Pull and reset the toilet using a new wax seal. After you set the toilet and before you turn the water on th fill the tank pour a gallon bof bleach in the tank and scrub down the walls and floor. Now, flush the bleach down into the bowl and turn the water on to fill the tank to test for leaks when you flush again. The bleach will kill any smelly bacteria that may be lurking in the tank and bowl. Good luck, tom
