    Judgement against contractor
I was here the other day asking questions regarding a court case with a homeowner and a roofer, anyway, I went to court yesterday and we settled with the insurance company but the judge placed a judgement against contractor. How do I go about collecting a judgment? The contractor has a website so it seems as if he is doing well, he owns the home his office is run out of, I know I can't touch anything personally on him, so what do I do?

Thius is the Catch22 of getting sa judgement. You need to find out where he banks, what assets he owns and then go back to court to get a writ of attachment.

It's a rather large judgement so what can actually be seized?

The judgement is against the business... the business is run out of the house the man owns. How do I find out where his bank account is?

Ok, then you can only attach assets that are in the business name. You can go back to the court and ask them to force him to fill out a financial disclosure statement. Or subpeona his business tax returns

OK thanks.. however he didn't show up to court to begin with.. is it easy to just close down his business and open another one say tomorrow... is there a chance I will actually collect? The judgment is for 140k

Again, this is the Catch22 of a judgement.
