My attorney filed motion to withdraw; the hearing for the motion is set to be early September. Can I file restaining order on my own while waiting for the hearing? Thank you very much. I am in Connecticut.
Can one file mortion for either a temporary injunction or an ex parte injunction in the middle of legal proceeding, say before the discovery and deposition? What is the difference between temporary injunction and ex parte injunction in civil proceeding? Thank you so much.

Need more info - such as why a restraining order - family matter, criminal matter?
If your Attorney has already started work on a restraining order you cannot appear for yourself until the Attorney is formally released from representing you.
If this is something the Attorney has not addressed, yes you can.

Thank you, JudyKayTee, for your answer. In the complaint filed, we have asked for injunction relief, but there was never a motion filed for restraining order. I am a little confused. Will you consider the complaint filed as "started work"? Thank you.

No, I don't really know how to. Would you be able to share as to how? Thank you.

Is this a domestice relations case? There may be a blanket order in all such cases.

That's where I was going - depends on the type of case and where in the proceedings things stand, as well as why the Attorney is dropping out.

Thank you again. This started a tort case and now is "other". The reason my att filed withdraw was because I started to question him why he withheld important doc from me and his fees charged. He filed motion after he could not give me straight answers. In his motion, he claims "communication broken down". This is a trial case, he did not even share with me the schedules until I asked him multiple times. I suspect that he comprised my case with the defendents' att behind my back. There are some other odd events that I will not share here. I just don't think he is after my best interest anymore.

I think you're right - but I think your hands may very well be tied until he is formally removed.

Thank you again, JudyKayTee, very much. The motion hearing is coming in early September. According to your posting, I should wait then. Can I ask for Court's protection during the withdraw hearing? This case has been dragging on for more than 4 years. I still owed him some money and I don't want him to attack me with liens or anything. Here in CT, the limitation is 3 years. There is no question that he over charged me and mistakes made in some filings. Too bad, he is highly regarded... perhaps greed or some other reasons that no one will ever know. Thank you again very much.

Thank you for merging, but I am asking a total different question. I now understand that restraining order is for criminal, my case is civil. This question is not the same as the previous one. The way you merged it, no one will ever read my second question.
