    Quadratic Equation driving me Crazy
    Ok here goes I hope that some one can help me. I am in college online actually and I quit school in the 7th grade, but got my GED 14 years ago so the whole Algebra thing is like a foreign language to me. I can not figure out this quadratic equation.

    A=(LP)/2-L^2 gives the area of a rectangle of perimeter P and length L. Suppose that you had 600 feet of fence which you plan to use to fence in a rectangular area of land. Choose any 2 lengths for a rectangle and find the corresponding area for each using the given equation. Include units and show all calculations. Which of the 2 lengths that you chose gives a larger area? What is the corresponding width of each of the 2 rectangles?

    If someone can please help me I would really appreciate it. I am really not looking for someone to do my work for me I just need help. I do not understand any of this and I have been trying to teach myself but that has already gotten me one F I really do not want another.

    Note that the area of a rectangle can also be defined by:
    A=LxW (area = length times width)

    You can pick any two lengths less than 300 feet and use the equation you have to find the area (since you know the perimeter to be the length of your fence).

    Use the equation I gave you to find the width.
