I would like to know about how much time is generally the amount that is accrued each month for an exempt, Part-time person?

Also, what is fair to offer an exempt, part-time person who works more than the allotted 20 hours per week? I realize overtime is not required, but for added benefit, would CTO be appropriate for the number of additional hours worked?:confused:

We do not allow benefits such as PTO for part time employees less than 20 hours a week.

Exempt is paid for the job and not for hours so hours do not matter in this job. If the company starts compensating for extra hours worked, than you could become hourly instead of exempt.

HI dianec... when you say time accrued I take that to mean... holiday days, also am I right to think an exempt is a part time person which is how it reads?

Usually time accrued, would be dictated by the number of hours you work, also how many weeks holiday your allowed per year.

e.g... If you were entitled to say 4 weeks holiday per year, and you worked, 18 hours each week, then your entitlment would be: 4 x 18 hrs =72 hrs altogether.

The principle is the same, whether you work, 18 or 48 hrs, you always times it by 4 to find your holiday entitlment.

Rememder though your working week is the hours you are contracted for and not necessarily the hours you do.

You could work 25 hours per week, but you are only contracted to work 20, therefore your entitlement will be 4x20 hrs =80hrs

Different employers have different rules but on the whole this is pretty standard.

If your on casual labour, they don't have to pay you for any holidays, its down to the managers discretion.
