    Oil to gas conversion
I have about 7 rental units that have forced hot air in a few different buildings... the tenants are all complaining about the cost of oil...

Without being rude, I don't so much care about the "cost" aspect... however I do care about keeping their units heated, and gas doesn't run out as oil does... when their oil runs out they use electric space heaters which are a huge fire hazard and as much as I tell them they can't use space heaters I know they do... the other thing I like about my rental units using gas is that its easily maintained and cleaner than oil

My question is can I keep my current systems and buy the conversion kits from oil to gas?. gas is already in the houses for hot water and cooking... I know that at least 3 of the burners are Becketts... any idea on costs?. I know to buy and install 7 new systems will be at least $21,000 or $3,000 each

    Thanks for the help

The old furnaces are probably not that efficient and when converted to gas will probably be even less efficient.

Usually burner conversion parts run about 900.00 then labor 300.00-400.00 ?on top of that. Then all you will have is a old furnace with a new burner. LOL I would suggest just replacing the furnaces and write them off as a capitol improvement unless you can get a invoice that calls the replacement furnaces repairs. This way you can write them off completely in one year.
