More specific marital debt
The guy I live with has gotten a divorce. She's pursuing him for monies for bills that were paid by refinancing the house. He had lived in the house and paid the mortgage for five years. She took the house. She also is asking for monies for an unpaid hospital bill she had aqquired during their marriage, yet it wasn't in the divorce papers. She also told him the 10,000 dollar loan that is in his name that they acquired during the marriage is his problem. I thought marital debt was any outstanding unpaid bills. Can she get away with this? She's making him live on app. $600 per month.

Then he is only responsible for what is listed in the divorce decree. If she is claiming more, then just refer her back to the decree.

Thank you. He has two years to change the decree it says he owes her $20,000 for marital debt that was paid for with no documentation. When the lawyer asked for documentation, she produced paid for bills.

He didn't have a lawyer at the time. It's been a year. She's taking 43% of his gross pay(including overtime, bonuses, etc. from w-2) for childcare on 4 kids, one that is not his, and another is questionable. Plus now she wants more. He doesn't even get to claim them ever. Yet he hasn't missed one payment. I can't believe her lawyer is letting her get away with it. It's fraud. Thank you for your answer to my questions. It is appreciated.

1 ) he shouldn't be oaying for someone else's child. ( he needs to get an explination as to why that is )
Another thing is if he is paying for medical for the children then that is included in the total and should never pass the 50% mark.

I am currently going through a divorce but have not seen a lawyer yet. My husband had poor credit from his past. So I had him added to my cards. I am the primary on all the cards and he is a card holder and also has charged as well as me. If the cards are in my name and he is a cardholder--who...
