Hi folks, I have a problem with XP. I had XP Professional and accidentally loaded the home version on the same partition. Now I can only use professional in safe mode, and home version not at all

The best option is to transfer all data presently on C: drive to a separate partition (addresses, bookmarks, email, photo's, music, etc.) on for instance drive D: or drive E: .
Than do a format c:/u and follow that up with an entire new setup of Win XP prof.
There are ways to sort this problem out differently, but for that you have to be a computer nerd, and the installation will never be as stable as before.

Takes about one hour, and cleans the C: drive completely from a lot of Windows rubbish !
Have original WIN XP CD ready. You need to re-install all programs you want to operate afterwards.

Note : if you prepared the hard drive properly with several partitions, you will see that this is easy and quick to do, and provides a much faster and cleaner machine , while freeing lot's of space on C: drive.

May I suggest to transfer all data permanently to another drive than C: ? Much easier, less problems !

Yeah, that's a no-no. Sorry, dual boot is only "officially" supported by Microsoft on separate partitions. If you can safely remove the Home Version (doubt it) the PRO might come back to full functionality.

Partition-Magic is a program that can split your existing partition in two without harming the data already on it. Then you can install XP Home on the new partition and then copy your data over, then completely wipe the original partition and install XP Pro there.

Did you see dual boot menu when booting
If not, refer from msconfig boot.ini
