    Gst and pst
I'm thinking about buying a dog pack from some company in the States(I live in Canada). It's 54.99 with shipping but they said that's not including the canadian duties(GST and PST). When I asked how much that would be the woman I was speaking with said she was unsure about these in canada. Is there anyone who could shed some light on my problem?
And I'm sending the 54.99 by money order do I send the GST and PST to?

This forum addresses U.S. tax issues, concentrating on income taxes.

You need to find a forum for Canadian excise and import taxes.

As I understand it only the canadian government can collect GST and PST. GST and PST are *not* the duty, that's a separate issue. Once your package reaches your local post office you'll likely get a notice to pick it up and pay any duties at that time.
