    Finding Mortgage Holders
    I need to know how to find the name of the mortgage holder for an abandoned house across the street from where I live?

    Go to your local county clerk and ask to see the currenty deed. It should list any lienholders.

    Many counties have on line property searches available now.

    While it will give you the taxpayer information, in some cases, the taxpayer may not be the same as the mortgage holder.
