    How to split rent?
My best friend and I starting renting a 3 bedroom condo together about two years ago. The original contract includes her, my daughter and myself. Our rent is $1375 and we split it in half because my two bedrooms are the same size as her one master bedroom. Just about 3 months ago she asked if her boyfriend can stay with us for one month because his lease is up and his new place will not be ready for 1 month. I was okay with that and I understand he may also want to save his money during the transition. Well, without any notification to me, 1 month turned into 3 months and he has not helped with any bills. And I don't even like this guy nor do I want to live with this guy. Because I'm so pissed off that he's now living with us and no one even asked me if I was okay with this, I think he should contribute to bills and rent. What would be the appropriate way to approach this situation and should he be required to pay rent or bills? If so, how much?

I think the very MINIMUM somebody should pay is the difference in the utilities with them there. For example, a $35.00 a month water bill is now $50. He should have to pay the $15. Difference. Bring it up to her and see what she says and then sit them both down and talk out a plan for rent and for utilities

Once her boyfriend move in the agreement changed. Your all need to sit down and split the rent 3 ways because he's now a resident. If it's agree upon get it in writing. Also do your lease states a third party can move in?

If no one wants to agree on this could you afford your own place for you and your daughter? Also, when it comes to splitting other bills she might bring up your daughte uses water and light. Be prepare for anything to brought up.

Just my thought on the situation, sometimes sharing an apartment with a friend is not always a good idea. I lost one of my childhood friend because of this and hope this don't happens to you.
