    Hot tub electrical
I am wiring in a new hot tub and am having a bit of trouble. Of course it is 220 v but I can only find 3 wires ready to be hooked up coming out of the electrical box under the tub. It seems as if there is no ground(bare) wire. Do I need to ground the lead coming from the house onto the frame of the spa or do I need to use the bare wire at all?

I think you should re-ask your question in the electrical section. Those guys will know the correct answer.

My off the cuff answer is that a ground is required. I've never installed a hot tub, but I believe where I live (in Canada), a GFCI protected breaker is mandatory for hot tubs... and a ground is necessary for a GFCI to work.
