Have to find a new home now!
Well, I am sad now! I think I need a new home for my four month old pitbull. She was really great this first week, good to all my kids. We took her for walks and played all the stuff you need to do. She got along great with my other two dogs. But, now she has bit my two year old twice in the face. Once when he grabbed her tail and then once when she was running the yard, she just ran up to him and bit him on the cheek. I think she thought she was playing, but what if it happens when she is older and really bites hard. My kids are more important than my dog right now. She is also starting to bite my older German Shorthair. Im not sure what's going on! I don't have the money for obedience classes. So I think I need to find her a new home! Any opinions would be great. I have had dogs for 38 years and never had any problems. This is my first pitbull, and we only got her because the previous owners were going to put her down! Sorry such a long question!

I wouldn't trust her either since you have young kids. Even if she was meaning to be playful it is not safe at all. If you give her to a family as opposed to a animal rescue place make sure they do not have children in easy access to the dog, or somebody that is going to train it to be mean. Also warn anybody that she has bitten and you need to get rid of her because of your kids. Find her somewhere safe asap.

Try some pitbull rescues... personally I would not have such a strong dog unless I could make sure they were never alone with children and I had enough time to dedicate to training them... even a tiny accident could result in a huge problem because of their strength. If you Google pitbll rescues or even rescues in your area you may find someone willing to take her... Hopefully you can find a no kill shelter even if you can't find a rescue. It may take some work but believe me it is possible to place. I have run into to some awesome rescues with the dogs that I have found wandering around.

At 4 months of age I really don't think it was full blown aggressive biting, maybe testing the waters, wanting to play. Although something to watch and needing someone that can assess her and train her... definitely not in a household full of children.

Was not the fact that the previous owner was going to put the dog down, enough of a warning for you with young children?

    I guess not.

I guess you get to pick, the dog, or your children.

And are you really considering passing this "problem" on to another family?

Since there was NOTHING in your post to indicate WHY the previous owner was going to put the dog down, my answer was appropriate.

I know of very few people, who care about animals or pets, who would "put a dog down" just because they couldn't keep them at their residence any longer.

You were way to critical in the awarding of the reddie to my post.

The more details you provide in your question, the more likely you are to get better responses.
