    Am I pregnant or overexaggerating?
I'm fifteen years old, and worried that I am pregnant. I have read several websites listing the same symptoms and I wonder if (since I have most of the symptoms), I can be pregnant too. I can admit to myself that I was being careless by not using a condom at the time, but I was taking birth control yet missing several day after day. I hadn't been on the pack for a month before I started having sex. My first time was on June 13. Around the 15th I began to bleed a brownish color. It wasn't heavy. It stopped three days later. On the 21st, my period began (normal flow) but ended the 25th. I usually last all seven days but this time was different. I had unprotected sex again on the 3rd, 4th, and 11th. But around the 8th, my breasts started hurting and became very sensitive to even the slightest touch. A few days ago, I began to use the bathroom more often. Let's just say at least two times every couple hours (sometimes more). I wake up during the night feeling sick to my stomach. Throughout the day, I feel hot which is unusual because I'm usually cold. So many changes have happened to my body lately. I get frequent headaches. I feel bloated and my lower back has a slight pain. According to my birth control pack, I shouldve started my period four days ago. Am I overexaggerating or could I be pregnant? I'd appreciate any help I can get. :)

Nobody knows but buy a pregnancy test or visit a doctor.

It's impossible to say for sure over the internet whether you are pregnant or not. The signs and symptoms for pregnancy can also mirror premenstruation symptoms.

While the pill is not 100% effective, it is even less effective if not taken correctly. That means the same time every day.

Unfortunately you are now playing the waiting game and must wait until you get or miss your period. Then you need to test using first morning urine.

Be careful about home pregnancy tests when you're on BC. You can get false positives, and you can get false negatives anytime (I know a girl who tested negative at 4 months). A doctor is your best bet for knowing for sure.

Several issues, first birth control pills are not normally effective until the second month, and they are not effective if you miss them and don't take them properly.
Also even if and when taken properly, they are not 100 percent effective.
And of course they do not prevent the 100's of STD's out there.

So can you be, yes you can, are you, no way to really tell at this point, you need to get a test and try it according to the instructions.

If you are not, best is to stop having sex at such a young age when you are not ready to have a baby, but if you have to, use at least two birth control methods, and don't have sex if you are not doing the birth control pills properly.

Birth control pills will not give false positives. The tests are looking for the pregnancy hormone called hCG, that is not part of the chemical makeup of the pill. False negatives, while relatively rare, are caused by a number of other factors that do not include the pill.

Really? My best friend got a scare when she took a pregnancy test that wound up to be a false positive, and she told me it was her BC pills... maybe there was something else?

False positives most often come about when someone is using certain fertility meds. If the test is not read in the allotted time, or is read later on, there can be an evaporation line that shows up and it may sometimes look like a positive result.
Although not actually a "false" positive, it can also happen that a pregnancy occurs, but does not take from the start... so someone might get a positive, test again another time and it is now negative. This happens fairly often, but most people never know it.
