Wrongful deed! Can I file an appeal?
Hi! OK well, I just got a divorce but, I want to know something about filing an appeal. I want to file an appeal because I was awarded a mobile home and my ex was awarded the land that the home sits on. (which its free and clear! Paid in full) my ex convinced the judge that he was left the land by his mother who died in 2002. However, his "step father" and his "step fathers" new wife sold it to him for $10 in 2006. His mother did not have a will and I don't see this property as being an inheratance! Can anyone help?? I also want to add that I have a debit of $35,000 for the home plus 3 children, $50 child support a month, and on top of it I have to find land and move within 6 months!! Help, I have 2 weeks to file an appeal!

Welcome to AMHD. Hopefully, you had a competent lawyer. If so, you need to review carefully your grounds for appeal, beside the fact that you are unhappy. If you didn't have a lawyer, you need to find one quickly to review the record (testimony and evidence).

In most cases inorder to get an appeal you need leagal grounds beside I just didn't like what you said. From the sounds of it you went in ill prepared and it came back and bit you. If you had a lawyer then fire him / her and get a new one. If you represented yourself then get a lawyer quick.

However, he acquired the property. It would appear he does own it. As such its part of the marital property and to be distributed under the divorce decree.
