    Retained earning balance
    The fellowing selected amounts are available for Sanders Company
    Retained earnings beginning $1000
    Net loss 100
    Cash dividends declared 100
    Stock dividends declared 50

    What is its ending retained earnings balance?

    How don't understand how to work this problem. Can someone help me?

    Three things affect retained earnings: revenues, expenses and dividends. Retained earnings is where the earnings not retained in the company (hence "retained" earnings) are accumulated.
