AC handler in garage leaking water after 15 months.
After 15 months. I received a notice of violation from the city that the contractor did not pull a permit, so the contractor came out, did 2 hrs of work (electrical, up in attic, outside, etc.) now the air handler is leaking water quite profusely, so contractor came back out and put holes in the bottom of the air handler, says he put in a "float"?? said he doesn't know what''s wrong with it, and it is still leaking... the city inspector will be back, the contractor has come out 3 times so far and the air handler is still leaking. Says he doesn't know why? Well, it hadn't leaked for the first 15 months after the install, hoping you can help with this problem. Thanks
It ia a 3 ton, 13 seer, 8 kw heat Rheem system

Can you tell where the water is coming from? The condensation drain off the evaporater could be stopped up,, sometime using a wet/dry shop vac on the end of the drain will suck out whatever has it stopped up,, worth a try

Make sure the inspector has it taken care of. It is the installers responsibility.

It might need a trap on the drain line.

    Thank you for your response
    The air handler unit itself,
It is about 6-7 feet long, strapped to the ceiling of the garage, the wall next to it is damp and paint peeling from the moisture and at the other end of the unit is where the water is dripping from (the part furthest from the wall)
Aside from the actual leaking itself, My fear is mold, mildew (Legionaires?)
