Some women will fall pregnant within a few months after the last injection... others may take well over a year. Depo Provera is one form of birth control that is known for causing some women to find it takes quite awhile before fertility is restored. It works well for some women; causes frustration for others when they come off it and want to conceive.

I took the shot twice and when I decided to stop taking it I didn't go back when I was suppose to take it again and from that point it took me 7 months to even ge another period.

They say if you are going to have sex while in the early stages of depo, to use a back up like condoms. It don't have anyting to do wth how much you weigh it works the same with evryone but, you don't want a unwanted pregancey because you are on the shot. So just to make shure use a "back up"method like condoms for the first month .

We advise our patients that it can take up to 18 months or more to conceive after receiving the depo provera shot. This differs for every woman though. Some can get pregnant within a short time after discontinuing the shot, others get pregnant on the shot. 18 months is just an average.

I have been off the shot for 8 months now and I have not had a period but I ovulate each month between the 6-15. I have been told that it can take up to a year to get your cycle back but I never had a normal cycle even on the BC pills. I'm Trying to conceive right now. It really depends on the person I guess. A friend of mine had two shots and with in a few weeks she had her period and then became pregnant. ALL I can say is that I'll NEVER go back on the shot again. When you come off you have pregnancy symptoms . Sore and swollen breats, tired all the time, sick to your stomach, back pain , its awefull

When you saw the doctor back in January, did they do any testing? Did you have an ultrasound done? It may be that the bleeding was not due to the injection or that it was at one point, but was due to a different cause later on.
I would make another appointment and discuss the situation with your doctor.
