    Training my puppy
We got our puppy at 7 1/2 weeks and she had never had an accident in her crate. She is now 9 1/2 weeks and for the past 4 nights she has started peeing in her crate. She has always cried when she has to go, but she had not been doing that anymore. I don't know what to do. Should I take the blanket out (maybe she will learn her lesson if she pees and actually sits in it) I can't figure out why she would be doing this all of a sudden.

She needs to be taken outside on a regular basis and at 7 l/2 weeks she has to learn some structure, which she will not do in a crate. I don't know why there are so many people keeping dogs in crates. I never had a problem training my walker hound and she has never done anything in any house we have lived in.

She is probably trying to tell you that she doesn't want to be in the crate and if you don't start houstraining her now at 7 l/2 weeks, you will always have a problem with her.

I hope she gets regular play time with the adults so that she will trust you and love you.

I don't really see anything wrong with crating a dog, but for 2 weeks she wouldn't have any accidents in there, but now all of a sudden she is. And she doesn't even cry when she's in there except for when she has to go.
She is not in there all the time. We play with her a lot and has a lot of toys and we take her outside a lot. She even goes to my mother inlaws and plays with another puppy. She is very loved. Crating may not work for some but it's a life savor for others.
