    Hippa Penalties
I work for a contract that requires me to access peoples health care information. Recently I was enformed that myself and a co-worker were suspended because of an accusation that we informed another co-workers husband of some appts and have been making regular corespondense with him giving him text messages from her and pictures also. Neither of us have spoken to or seen her husband and do not have access to her phone. What if anything can we do in this situation? We are currently suspended until they call us.

If this is totally untrue, then I would contact an employment Attorney now before it gets any worse.

Why are they blaming you - if you know - and why is your employer listening to them?

    Pictures? Pictures of what?

First you have been suspended for what they say is a violaton of rules, you have the right to see the evidence against you and to defend yourself if posible. In fact if you did not do this and they can't prove it, you have the right to all the pay you missed while off work, I would go and talk to them and see if they will correct the error, if not, a labor atttorney and a law suit is called for.
